Alice Lloyd Athletics Announces Archery as New Sport
Pippa Passes, KY: Alice Lloyd College has announced that they will offer a new sport beginning in the fall of 2023 as archery will make its debut. The school has selected Ty Reagan to head up this program.
Reagan, a native of Jamestown, Tennessee, will be graduating from ALC in December 2022.
While attending Alice Lloyd, he was a promising member of both the Eagle cross country and track teams. The Tennessee product was named as a scholar-athlete by the NCCAA, but unfortunately, injuries forced him to give up both sports.
However, when one door closes, another always seems to open. Reagan has always had knowledge and love for the bow since his youth, so he eagerly jumped at the chance to build and lead the program.
"I am beyond excited and grateful for the opportunity to cultivate a strong, competitive archery program here at Alice Lloyd College," the new coach replied. "In addition, I am very blessed to have a chance to help our student-athletes grow, mature, and refine their skills."
ALC Director of Athletics David Hatfield believes the new sport will prove successful at Alice Lloyd and that Reagan is a logical choice to lead the program. "I am excited that our school will be adding this new sport for our men and women to enjoy. The Appalachian area is full of many student-athletes who are proficient with a bow, so we believe this offering will prove very beneficial to our campus." Hatfield added, "Ty Reagan is a solid choice to get this program up and running. As an alumnus of the school, he understands the type of student-athletes we strive to recruit. He also is very passionate and eager to do well. His selection is a great fit for ALC."
