Bailey Stewart

We award the Female Student-Athlete of the Week honor to hoopster Bailey Stewart. The freshman from Corbin (KY) came up with a solid effort to help her squad gain a split for the week.

In the incredible comeback at West Virginia Tech, she helped the squad overcome a 20 point deficit in the second half. For the contest, she knocked down 12 points and grabbed a pair of rebounds.

Next, in the tough defeat at Midway University, she finished with 13 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 steal.

The Lady Eagles are currently 10-15 on the season

Male Athlete of the Week

Ben Soumahoro

Senior forward Ben Soumahoro is the Male Athlete of the Week as he had an impressive pair of performances for ALC in a pair of road matchups. In the 91-73 victory at West Virginia Tech, the forward pumped in 19 points on 7-14 field goals and 5-6 free throws. He also added 3 assists and 2 blocks.

 He followed that up in the last-minute, 97-93 defeat at Midway University by pouring in 33 points, connecting on 12-21 field goals and 9-13 free throws. He had another double-double as he ripped down 14 rebounds, and chipped in 5 assists and 2 steals.

For the week, the Lawrenceville, GA native averaged a double-double of 26 points and 12.5 rebounds on 54.3% shooting. He also added 4 assists, 1 block and 1 steal.

The Eagles record now sits at 18-7.
