Female Athlete of the Week 

We split the Female Athlete of the Week between basketball forward Jamie Cowan and softball pitcher Arin Rife.

Cowan produced some incredible numbers in the squads 103-84 NCCAA Mideast Regional Tournament loss to Asbury University. The sophomore finished the game with an ultra-rare triple-double as she scored 16 points (6-12 field goals, 2-3 bombs, 2-4 free throws), ripped down 21 rebounds, and handed out 10 assists. She is one of just a handful of Eagle players to achieve this feat,

The Lady Eagles' record concludes at 10-19. 

Rife was dominant on the mound for ALC in 3 starts and 1 relief appearance. First, she made an appearance in relief against the University of Pikeville, facing the final 2 batters, and whiffing 1. Next, in an 8-3 loss, the freshman started and struck out 7 Pikeville University batters in just 4 innings of work, allowing only 1 run. She then went a complete 7 innings to mow down Union Commonwealth 7-0, allowing 2 hits and 0 runs with 13 K's. Lastly, she finished the week by taking out Bluefield State 13-0 in 5 innings, giving up 1 hit and 0 runs, with 11 K's. Her weekly ERA is 0.42

For good measure, she performed double-duty as she batted .588 on the week (10-17), including 6-7 with 2HR, 9 RBIs, and 2 runs against Union, and 11 RBIs, 5 runs, 2HR, and 1 double on the week.

The Lady Eagles record now sits at 7-7. 

Male Athlete of the Week

We split the Male Athlete of the Week between basketball guard Koji Anderson and baseball designated hitter, Aaron Rothballer.

 Anderson produced some outstanding moments in two Eagle matchups at the NCCAA Mideast Regional Tournament. First, in the 107-103 overtime victory over an impressive Lancaster Bible College club, the sophomore finished the game with 27 points on 9-17 field goals, 2-6 bombs, and 7-7 free throws. With his squad trailing by two, and just seconds remaining, the cool guard drove into the paint and scored over two defenders with 0:00.4 showing to send the game into overtime.  Then, in the extra segment, he scored 12 of the team's 16 points to chalk up the victory in the Eagles's column. He added 7 assists, 2 rebounds, 2 blocks, and 1 steal.

Next, in the championship match, an 89-73 defeat to Ohio Christian University, Anderson delivered once more as he scored 18 points (7-15 field goals, 2-7 bombs, 2-2 free throws), nabbed 2 rebounds, handed out 3 assists, and gained 2 steals.

The Eagles record now sits at 20-10

Rothballer was dominant with the bat in the Eagles sweep over Grace Christian University. In the first game 12-5 win, he finished 2-4 at the plate, with 1 homerun, 2 RBI's, and 2 runs scored.

Then, in the 10-1 victory, he batted 2-3, with 1 homerun, 1 double, 3 RBIs and 2 runs scored.

The Eagles record now sits at 9-3.
