Student-Athletes of the Week (March 31st- April 6th 2025): Taylor Caldwell and Cain Flynn
We award the Female Athlete of the Week to Outdoor Track and Field Athlete Taylor Caldwell.
At the Landon Bond Classic in Berea, she threw the Shot Put 9.7 m to land in 8th place. Next, she tossed the Javelin a season's-best 29.52 m, which gave her a 5th place finish. This is also just shy of meeting the national qualifying standard of 29.55 m.
Then, at Centre College she again had another absolute stellar performance. Despite a torrential downpour, Caldwell had the best shot-put performance of her career at Alice Lloyd with a lifetime personal best throw of 9.95 meters which landed her in 7th place, scoring 2 points. Afterwards, she went to the Javelin and threw 26.34 m, landing her in 5th place, earning another 4 points for the women's team. She scored a total of 6 points for the women's team for that competition.
Male Athlete of the Week
We award the Male Athlete of the Week to baseball player Cain Flynn.
Flynn was steady at the mound for the Eagles as they went 2-1 on the week.
In a victory over a solid Milligan College Buffalo club, he tossed a 6-hitter, allowing just 2 earned runs with a pair of srtike outsbatted .500 (10-20) while scoring 6 runs, rapped 3 doubles and 1 triple, made 4 steals, and drove in 4 runs.
The Eagles NCCAA record now sits at 17-11.
