Alice Lloyd College Welcomes Four New Members into the Athletic Hall of Fame

Alice Lloyd College proudly inducted four outstanding athletes into its prestigious Athletic Hall of Fame during a special ceremony held on October 11, 2025. The Class of 2025 includes Megan Boswell, Ryne Loggins, Jeff Smith, and Cody Stumbo—each recognized for their remarkable achievements both on and off the field.

Megan Boswell

Megan Boswell, from Stanton, Kentucky, is a graduate of Powell County High School, where she is also a member of the school's Athletic Hall of Fame. She attended Alice Lloyd College from 2011–2015 and earned her degree in Sports and Fitness Management. A four-year member of the Lady Eagles softball team, Boswell was known for her reliability and leadership behind the plate.

During her career, she played in 113 games as the starting catcher, maintaining a .289 batting average with 91 hits, 45 RBIs, and a .341 slugging percentage. She was instrumental in securing the program's first-ever victories and helping establish a foundation for continued success. Boswell was named to the KIAC All-Conference Team in 2012 and received the Gold Glove Award for four consecutive seasons.

Off the field, she excelled academically and was named to the Dean's List several times. Today, she resides in Stanton, where she serves as a manager at La Cabana restaurant. Boswell was joined at the ceremony by family and friends. Her plaque was presented by ALC President Dr. Jim Stepp, Vice President of Student Services Mr. Scott Cornett, and Director of Athletics, and her former coach, Mr. Nathan Hall.

Ryne Loggins

Ryne Loggins, from Bristol, Tennessee, graduated from Virginia High School before attending Alice Lloyd College from 2012–2017. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in Sports and Fitness Management and later obtained a Master's Degree from the University of the Cumberlands. A four-year baseball player, Loggins was known for his skill in the outfield and his versatility as a relief pitcher.

Throughout his career, Loggins batted .284 with 56 RBIs, 17 stolen bases, and 4 home runs. Late in his career, he transitioned to relief pitching, where he earned 6 saves. He also helped lead the Eagles to the NCCAA College Baseball World Series, becoming the only player in program history to hit a home run in the event.

Loggins earned numerous honors, including two Gold Glove Awards, two Silver Slugger Awards, and back-to-back All-Mideast Region selections. He was also named Work-Study Student of the Year during his senior year.

Today, Loggins lives in Pippa Passes, where he is employed by Alice Lloyd College as an educator. He also serves as the Head Golf Coach, outfield coach for the baseball team, and a member of the city council. He was joined at the ceremony by his parents, Greg and Amanda Loggins, and his brother, Blake. His plaque was presented by Dr. Stepp, Mr. Cornett, and Mr. Hall.

Jeff Smith

Jeff Smith, from Barboursville, Kentucky, graduated from Barboursville High School and attended Alice Lloyd College from 1991–1996, earning a degree in Biology. He later received a Master's Degree from Parker University of Chiropractic. A four-year member of the Eagles baseball team, Smith was known for his competitiveness and skill as a pitcher.

Over his career, he pitched 141 innings, striking out 83 batters while issuing just 24 walks and allowing 43 earned runs. His career record of 15–6 gives him an impressive .714 winning percentage, and he was a multiple-time recipient of the ALC Pitcher of the Year award.

Off the field, Smith excelled academically and served as a Resident Advisor, later becoming Head RA during his senior year. He currently lives in Monticello, Kentucky, where he has owned and operated Smith Chiropractic for 25 years. He is a former president and board member of the Kentucky Board of Chiropractic Examiners and was named Kentucky Chiropractor of the Year in 2018–19. Smith also serves as a volunteer firefighter, holding the rank of Lieutenant, and assists as a middle school baseball coach in his community.

He was joined by his wife, Whitney, and their sons, Parker and Palmer. His plaque was presented by Dr. Stepp, Mr. Cornett, and Mr. Hall.

Cody Stumbo

Cody Stumbo, from Bowling Green, Kentucky, is a graduate of South Warren High School. He attended Alice Lloyd College from 2011–2016, earning a degree in Sports and Fitness Management. A four-year member of the Eagles basketball team, Stumbo was celebrated for his consistency, composure, and leadership.

Over 115 career games, Stumbo became a key starter in his final three seasons. As a senior, he helped lead the Eagles to a 17-win season, a first-place finish in the KIAC regular season, and an appearance in the conference championship game. That same year, the team earned its first-ever at-large bid to the NCCAA Division I National Tournament.

Stumbo averaged 13 points per game during his senior season, shooting over 51% from the field, 36% from three-point range, and 80% from the free-throw line—placing him among the top 10 in the conference. He earned All-Conference honors for his performance.

Across his career, Stumbo scored 1,126 points, shooting 50.8% from the field, 43.4% from three-point range, and 78.6% from the line. He also grabbed 520 rebounds and tallied nearly 100 assists. A dedicated student, he appeared on the President's List multiple times and earned the Computer Lab Work-Study Award. After graduation, he returned to serve one year as an Assistant Basketball Coach.

Stumbo currently resides in Bowling Green, where he is a Service Advisor for Toyota of Bowling Green. He attended the ceremony with his wife, Katie; son, Cash; parents, Matt and Stacy Stumbo; sister, Morgan; and in-laws, Gary and Jenny Frogge. His plaque was presented by Dr. Stepp, Mr. Cornett, his former coach Mr. J.R. Hammond, and Mr. Hall.


Each inductee exemplifies the Alice Lloyd College mission of developing leaders who serve their communities with character and dedication. Their athletic and professional accomplishments continue to inspire current and future generations of Eagles.
