
ALC Baseball Ends Season at NCCAA MIideast Regionals
Wilmore, KY: The #4 Alice Lloyd College Eagles (15-37) ended the 2023 season in the NCCAA Mideast Regional Tournament on Wednesday, May 10th, falling to #3 Kentucky Christian University (21-31), 1-4.
In the top of the 1st inning, TJay Mullins reached base on a single and advanced to third on a Noah Dingess single but was unable to score. Dawson Beckett started on the mound for the Eagles and gave up two runs in the bottom of the 1st inning.
The score would remain 0-2 KCU until the Eagles were able to produce a run in the 6th inning. Mullins reached base on his second single of the day and stole second. Eric Williams then reached first on an error by the KCU shortstop. Catcher Cole Bisop loaded the bases as he ripped a single into the outfield. Dalton Rouse grounded out into a fielder's choice and Mullins was able to cross the plate before Cannon Ferrell struck out to end the inning, leaving the score 1-2 KCU.
Kentucky Christian would score another run in the bottom of the 7th and 8th, sealing the victory for the Knights, 1-4.
The Eagles outhit Kentucky Christian 10-6. TJay Mullins went 3-4 from the plate and scored the Eagles' only run of the game. Cole Bishop contributed 2 hits and Corey Jefferson, Noah Dingess, Ryan Cozart, Isaiah Beckett, and Cannon Ferrell (2B) added 1 hit apiece. Dalton Rouse recorded an RBI.
On the mound, Dawson Beckett pitched a complete game. For the day, Beckett recorded 9 strikeouts, walked 5 batters, and was credited with 3 earned runs.
