Alice Lloyd - 13; KCU-2

The Eagles jumped ahead quickly and pulled away for the impressive win.

ALC struck immediately in the first inning. After an error by the Knights third baseman put the opening batter on first, the KCU pitcher issued a walk and hit a batter to load the bases. Cory Jefferson (3B) then strolled to the plate for the Eagles and promptly cracked a pitch over the left field fence for a grand-slam to give the hosts a 4-0 lead.

In the top of the second, a double and groundball enabled Kentucky Christian to dent the scoreboard, 4-1. That score would stand until the fifth.

In the Caney Creek fifth, Challen Massengill (RF) would single, then eventually advance to third. A groundout would bring him home (5-1).

In the KCU sixth, a homer to left field ate into the deficit, 5-2, but ALC responded.

In the Eagle half of the inning, after a double from Jefferson and single from Jayden Huff (LF) placed two on base, Massengill delivered a clutch single to plate them both, and make the score 7-2. The next inning would be the clincher.

After the Knights went scoreless in the seventh, ALC took over. In that at-bat, Kyle Johnson (CF) led off with a double. Next, Diego Rodriguez caught hold of a bastball and sent it over the fence for a two-run homer (9-4).

Later, Carson Tate (2B), Jefferson, and Cole Bishop (C) promptly belted three-consecutive doubles to bring home a pair of scores (11-2). Finally, Hall strode to bat and cracked a big shot over the left field fence to end the festivities, 13-2.

At the plate, Jefferson came up huge, rapping 3 hits, including a homer, and pair of doubles. He also registered 5 RBI's. Huff and Massengill both nailed a pair of hits as well, and were joined by Rodriguez with 2 RBI's each.

On the mound, Dawson Beckett went the distance to record the victory, allowing just 2 runs on 7 hits, with 3 strikeouts. ALC had 8 extra-base hits compared to the Knights 2, and played error-free ball.
