April 2nd

Alice Lloyd: 7 - Milligan-2

Milligan opened the game with a quick score on a solo home run to left field (1-0). However, ALC answered in the third when Diego Rodriguez (SS) singled in the tying run, 1-1.

In the fourth, Alice Lloyd broke the tie when KJ Wood (PR) streaked home from third on a wild pitch (2-1).

The Caney Creek crew kept the pressure on in the fifth, as singles delivered by Kyle Johnson (CF) and Cole Bishop (C) were good for another pair of runs. Now, the Bluegrass boys led 4-1.

MC chipped into that in the seventh when a single made the score 4-2. Happily for the home fans, their boys eliminated any hopes of a Buffalo comeback in the eighth.

At that moment, Johnson singled in his crew's fifth run (5-2). He was later followed by Zack Morris (1B), who laced a double that plated another pair of runs. Now, the Pippa Passes posse held a 7-2 advantage, and they would close out the matchup in the ninth for a solid victory.

At the plate, Johnson, Morris, and Gage Hensley (RF) all rapped 3 hits, with Hensley stroking a nice duo of doubles. Johnson and Morris both led the way with 2 RBIs apiece.

Cain Flynn started on the mound for ALC and took the impressive win. He allowed just 2 earned runs on 6 hits in 8 innings of work. He stuck out 2. Matthew Hebar took over in the ninth and faced four batters, striking out 1 to end the contest.

The Eagles outhit the Volunteer club 14-6, and both teams committed 1 error.
