ALC Esports Team Ranks 4th Nationally

Alice Lloyd College esports made an impressive debut in the ECAC Fortnite No Builds this fall, competing under the leadership of Coach Alex Hall. In their first semester, the team, consisting of Taylor "Taylur" Marshall, Austin "rapidhuff11" Moore, and Jeffrey "IceTipper" Spencer—who are all students at June Buchanan—demonstrated remarkable combat and zone-reading skills throughout the season, positioning themselves as one of the top teams in the country.

Entering the ECAC Fortnite National Finals, the team was recognized as one of the best in the nation and did not disappoint. In Game 1, they finished in 6th place with three eliminations, earning 52 points and establishing a solid foundation for the tournament. They continued their strong performance in Game 2, achieving eleven eliminations and securing 3rd place for a total of 62 points. Game 3 saw them maintain their momentum, finishing in 4th place with three eliminations, bringing their highest single-game total to 88 points. In Game 4, they once again claimed 3rd place with six eliminations, adding 76 points to their overall score. Although Game 5 presented a challenge, resulting in just 1 elimination and a 21st-place finish for 14 points, the team's overall consistency kept them firmly positioned in the top 5 throughout the competition.

The ALC esports team achieved an impressive 4th place in the nation out of 111 competing teams, finishing with a total score of 298 points. This accomplishment marks a significant achievement for their inaugural season. Their consistently high-level performances and ability to secure eliminations across multiple matches demonstrate their potential for future success. This remarkable result sets a high standard for Alice Lloyd College esports and provides a strong foundation for growth and further achievements in the ECAC.
