ALC Eagles Student-Athlete of the Week (January 8th): Ben Soumahoro

We award the male Student-Athlete of the Week honor of 2024 to Eagle basketball player Ben Soumahoro as he came up big in two tough conference contests.

In a disappointing 109-105 double-overtime loss to Oakland City University, he poured in 29 points on 10-17 accuracy, and added 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals and 1 block.

The senior forward followed that up in a tough 91-84 defeat at Brescia University by scoring 17 points on 7-8 shooting. He chipped in 7 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal.

 For the week, the Lawrenceville (GA) native averaged 23 points per game while shooting 68% from the field (17-25). For good measure, he grabbed 12 rebounds, and added 3 assists, 3 steals, and 1 block.

The Eagles are currently 8-7 on the season.
