Alice Lloyd Eagles Women and Men’s Golf Host Fall Invite
Prestonsburg, KY: On September 11th-12th, the Alice Lloyd College golf teams traveled to Stonecrest Golf Course to participate in the ALC Fall Invite. Six women's squads, with 34 participants, and ten men's squads with 55 participants, battled over two days.
In the women's completion, ALC would finish in 6th place. They had a two-day total of +306, which was a steady improvement over their first contest a few weeks ago. Individually, the Lady Eagles were led by Kennedy Bowen in 19th place with a two-day total of 189 (+24) and Hailey Dye in 27th place (217; +34). They were followed by Haleigh Jefferson (+90), Maddie Ward (+98), and Emma Coleman (+148). Each of the ladies bettered their scores from the opening meet.
In the men's event, ALC would enter two squads. The A team would find themselves in 6th place. They produced a two-day total of +43, which was also a steady improvement over their first contest a few weeks ago. The B team would finish in tenth place with a total score of +74.
Individually overall, the Eagles were led by Mason Compton, and Jason Price, who tied for 8th place with a two-day total of 146 (+2). These two were in contention throughout the event. They were followed by Caleb Leonard in 20th place at 152 (+4) and Chase Petry at 156 (+12). This duo was solid as well and put up solid scores.
In addition, Dillion Fields 161 (+17), Cole Smith (+22), Carson Hanson (+23), Ethan Rich (+24), and Isaac Bowen (+31) all gave improved performances as well.
