Alice Lloyd Golf Participates in Atomic City Classic
Oak Ridge, TN: The Alice Lloyd College men's golf team traveled to the Volunteer State on October 23rd/ 24th to play in the challenging Atomic City Classic held at the Oak Ridge Country Club.
Fourteen squads and 75 individuals took to the links. At the conclusion, Roane State emerged victorious, while Alice Lloyd would finish 11th over the 36-hole competition.
The Eagles were paced in the event by Mason Compton, who shot a steady 77-78 for a 155 total (+11). He finished in a tie for 30th place and was solid both days.
The rest of the Eagle golfers all lowered their opening round scores on day two. Compton was followed by Dillion Fields, who fired 81-79 to finish with a 160 (+16) score, which tied for 44th place.
Chase Petry shot an opening round of 85, then lowered it 5 strokes to 80 on day two, to finish at 185 (+21). This earned him 54th place.
In addition, for the Caney Creek Clubbers, Cole Smith fired rounds of 84-83 for a 167 total (+23), which landed him in a tie for 55th, and Jason Price shot 86-83 for a total of 169 (+25). He tied for 60th.
Next up for the Eagles golf team is the final match of the fall, the Eagle Classic in Cohutta (GA) on October 29th- 30th.
