Alice Lloyd Golf Concludes 2023 Fall Season in Georgia
Cohutta, GA: The 8th annual ALC Eagle Invitational Golf Tournament was held at Nob North Golf Course in Cohutta, Georgia on October 30th/31st. Nob North is always a good host. The course was in great condition with nice weather the first day, but the temperatures were in the low 50's on the second day. This adversely affected many scores.
A total of 76 participants tried their hand on the course. The University of Pikeville, Tennessee Wesleyan, Campbellsville-Harrodsburg University, and Truett-McConnell University were just some of the squads joining ALC for the tournament.
In the women's competition, ALC would finish in 4th out of 4 squads, with a two-day total of +896. Individually, the Lady Eagles were led by Kennedy Bowen, with a two-day total of +198 (+50) and Haleigh Jefferson, with a total of +214 (+70).
In addition, Hailey Dye at 235 (+91) and Emma Coleman at 249 (+105) rounded out the squad.
In the men's event, ALC would finish in 9th out of 10 squads with a two-day total of 662. Individually, the Eagles were led by Mason Compton. He fired a 78 both days for a two-round score of 156 (+12). This earned him 15th place.
Caleb Leonard and Cole Smith both shot 169 for the event, which tied them for 25th position while Jason Price and Chase Petry both achieved 173 (+29) to round out the squad.
The Eagles golf team will now be off until the 2024 portion of the season kicks in next spring.
