Alice Lloyd Soccer Hosts Campbellsville University-Harrodsburg

Pippa Passes, KY: On September 21st, the Alice Lloyd College Eagles hosted the Campbellsville University- Harrodsburg Pioneers in soccer action. UCH used a crucial seven-minute stretch in the second half to pull out a 4-2 comeback decision.

The Eagles got on the scoreboard at 24:22 when Javier Polly took a nice pass from Maddux Camden and drove home the point (1-0). That would prove to be the only goal of the half, as neither defense gave an inch. ALC would enter intermission ahead 1-0.

In the second half, the Eagles' defense remained stingy, and they prevented UC Harrodsburg from scoring during the game's first 70 minutes. However, the home squad was unable to add to their lead, and this would prove critical.

The turning point in the contest occurred during minute 71:00. At that juncture, the guests finally drove home a goal to tie things at 1-1. Suddenly, the momentum completely shifted.

In minute 76, the Pioneers would score once more to go ahead, 2-1. Then just 2 minutes later, an errant kick managed to trickle into the net for another CUH score. Suddenly, the Pippa Passes crew found themselves trailing 3-1.

For good measure, in minute 86, the central Kentucky squad would find pay dirt once again and increase their advantage to 4-1.

Alice Lloyd quickly responded to the last goal. At 86:50, Tyler Brammer lofted in a Jestin Barker assist to register an important score (4-2). Unfortunately, the final eight minutes ticked off with no more production.

On the day, both clubs fired 12 shots and had 3 corner kicks. Alice Lloyd's starting goalie Joseph Westphal registered 6 saves, while Nate Cook saved 2 off the bench. Harrodsburg (2-4-1) stopped 10 Caney Creek attempts.  ALC committed 3 fouls, compared to UCH with 8.

The Eagles (1-4) return to action on Tuesday, September 26th, when they host Southeastern Virginia. Game time is set for 6:00 p.m.
