Alice Lloyd Soccer Hosts Boyce Bulldogs

Alice Lloyd Soccer Hosts Boyce Bulldogs

Pippa Passes, KY: On October 20th, the Alice Lloyd College Eagles hosted the Boyce College Bulldogs in NCCAA Mideast Region soccer action. Boyce came ready to play and would leave Pippa Passes with an 8-1 victory.

The first twenty minutes was a defensive battle as neither squad could dint the scoreboard. That all changed shortly after when the Bulldogs scored the opening goal (1-0).

In the 25th minute, Boyce would come through with a second goal (2-0). Unfortunately, for the home club, they were not finished.

In the 32nd minute, the visitors would hit paydirt once more (3-0). Finally, five minutes before the half, they would come through yet again with a shot into the net. BC would go into intermission leading 4-0.

In the second half, the Eagles' hoped to reverse the trend, but Boyce was determined to prevent any comebacks. In the 55th minute, they would come through with another score (5-0). Later, in minute 63, they would repeat the process. Suddenly, the Louisville club led, 6-0.

Alice Lloyd finally got on the board in the 78th minute when Maddux Camden fed Dylan Moore with a nice pass and Moore drove it home (6-1). The momentum was short lived, however, as BC answered right back just one minute later with their seventh score (7-1).

For good measure, in minute 83, the big city squad would find pay dirt one final time and increase their advantage to 8-1. That score would hold until the final horn sounded.

On the day, Boyce (6-5-3) dominated the shots (28-13), and led in corner kicks (7-4). Both squads committed 4 fouls, and the Bulldogs had 9 saves. Alice Lloyd's starting goalie Joseph Westphal registered 8 saves, while on offense, Moore had the lone goal and Camden recorded the assist.
