Alice Lloyd Eagles host Johnson University in Soccer Action

Pippa Passes, KY:  On September 9th, the Alice Lloyd College Eagles played host to the Johnson University Royals in soccer action. In a tough matchup, the Tennessee club would take the 5-1 win.

 ALC displayed a good steady effort in the first half and were only outshot 10-8. They would go into the locker room trailing 2-0 at intermission.

 In the second half, a couple of yellow cards would prove costly and help leap to a trifecta of scores from JU. Trailing 5-0 past the midway point, ALC would strike when Dylan Moore would receive a penalty kick. His shifty move and successful attempt would garner a point for his squad (5-1). Unfortunately, the hosts would not be able to chip into the deficit any further, and that score held until the final horn sounded.

On the day, the hosts fired 12 shots, compared to Johnsons 21. Pippa Passes goalie Joseph Westphal registered 7 saves while the Royals, now 2-1, stopped 4 Eagle attempts.

 ALC (0-2-1) returns to action on Friday, September 9^12h, when they host Appalachian Bible College. Game time is set for 3:30pm.
