Alice Lloyd Eagles Soccer earns big victory over Kentucky Christian, 4-3

Pippa Passes, KY: On September 23rd, the Alice Lloyd College Eagles returned home to battle the Kentucky Christian University Knights in soccer action. In a battle between a pair of evenly competative squads, ALC pulled off the huge 4-3 victory.

 The hosts struck first when Dylan Moore took a feed from Jensen Harbaugh at 14:00 and delivered the goods for a 1-0 lead.

Later, at 22:40, Moore struck again as he went solo for the nice goal. Now, ALC led, 2-0.

KCU dented the scoreboard with their first goal of the game at 35:45. Regardless, the Eagles would take a 2-1 lead into the dressing room at intermission.

 In the second half, the Pippa Passes posse stuck again when Sawyer Crum did the damage with a swift kick of his own to lift his crew to a 3-1 advantage.. Later, at 61:20, Bryan Amadore got in on the action, scoring off another assist from Harbaugh. This gave the Pippa Passes posse a 4-1 advantage.

To their credit, the Knights fought back with a pair of goals. at 71:20 and 78:25, to reduce the deficit to one, 4-3. However, ALC refused to give any more ground and tightened up on the defensive end. That score would remain until the final buzzer sounded, handing the hometown fans the victory.

On the day, the victors fired 10 shots, compared to Kentucky Christians 11. Moore led the way with a pair of scores, while Harbaugh provided a pair of assists.

Pippa Passes goalie Joseph Westphal took the win in the net, as he allowed 3 goals and recorded 6 saves.

 ALC (3-3-1) returns to action on Thursday, September 26rd, when they host Southwestern Virginia. Game time is set for 6:30pm.
