ALC Soccer concludes record-setting season in DII National Championship
Kissimmee, FL: On November 20th, the Alice Lloyd College Eagles returned to the Sunshine State of Florida for their third and final game in Pool B play at the 2025 Division II Men's Soccer National Championship. The #2 seeded Kentucky boys would face #3 Pensacola Christian (FL). The home school took control early and pulled away for the 8-2 victory.
The scoring started just seven minutes in when PCC's Jackson Clarke took a pass and drove in a shot to give his club a 1-0 advantage. Then, at 13:38, Reid Rhodes matched him to put his club ahead. 2-0.
A penalty was called on the play against the Eagles which awarded Pensacola another opportunity for a score. At 13:40, Samir Vieira Siqueira got the shot and capitalized. Suddenly, the board read 3-0.
The score remained unchanged until 31:56. At that juncture, PCC's Clarke struck paydirt once more, and now the Florida club led 4-0.
ALC would finally answer in the very next minute when Luis Serabia received a penalty kick, and cashed in. Now, the score read 4-1. However, any hopes of a run from the Bluegrass bunch were quickly dashed when Devin Woods went for another score at 38:53. This now made the scoreboard 5-1, and that remained unchanged until intermission.
In the second half, Clarke achieved the hat-trick at 57:03 on a solo goal (6-1). Then, at 73:17, his teammate Odanci Ndayisaba duplicated the feat to push the score to 7-1. Soon after, at 75:16, Colin Elms got in on the action, delivering Pensacola their eighth goal of the day (8-1).
The scoring would finally end when Caney Creeks own Jensen Harbaugh received a penalty kick at 77:46. The 8-2 score would hold until the final buzzer sounded.
On the day, PCC (10-5-6) led in shots (31-23), shots-on-goal (20-10), and fouls. ALC led in corner kicks, 6-5
Offensively, Sarabia and Harbaugh delivered the scores while on defense, Kalin Schneider recorded 5 saves and allowed 5 goals in the first half. Nate Cook relieved him in the second and registered 6 saves and gave up 3 goals.
The Eagles conclude their season with an impressive 12-4-4 record. They broke the school record for wins in a season (12), and won the Mideast Region Tournament for the first time in school history. They also advanced to the National Championship for the first time and received the #2 overall seed.
We congratulate this group of men for their outstanding year.
