Alice Lloyd Eagles Track Competes in NCCAA National Tournament

Columbia, SC: The Alice Lloyd College Lady Eagles and Eagles Outdoor Track and Field squad traveled to Columbia International University on May 11th and 12th to compete in the NCCAA National Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Several ALC athletes earned their way to the most prestigious event of the NCCAA season and competed against numberous athletes across the country. 

For the women, Riley Schreck competed in the javelin throw. Schreck threw for 32.50m and earned 8th place out of 18 athletes and tallied one point for the Lady Eagles. Sarah Cecil competed in the 400m hurdles and finished 10th.

On the men's side of things, several athletes competed in different events. Nick Chasteen earned 10th place in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.01 seconds, breaking his time from last year's nationals by .07 seconds. He also placed 16th in the 200 meter race. In the high jump, Davy Bentley soared to a height of 1.8M and earned an 11th place finish. Kenny Wilburn finished 15th in the 400 meter race with a time of 49.92. Andre Harless placed 10th in the 400m hurdles and Rhett Estep finished 13th in the same event.

Senior Dakota Owens qualified for NCCAA and NAIA nationals but was unable to compete due to injury.
