Alice Lloyd Eagles Track and Field Competes in Brescia Bearcat Invitational
Owensboro, KY: The Alice Lloyd College Eagles Outdoor Track and Field squad traveled to the western end of Kentucky on April 6th to compete in the competitive Bearcat Invitational Meet hosted by Brescia University. A total of 5 NAIA squads took part in the action. On the day, ALC men would finish 5th out of the men's schools participating, but the Pippa Passes posse would earn a season-high 25 points as a team.
Once again, the Eagles' big winner was Nicholas Chasteen. The speedster finished 6th in the 200-meter dash, with a time of 23:08, worth 6 points. He also finished 10th in the 100-meter dash, earning 3 points for the squad.
Also earning points was Andre Harless. In the 400-meter hurdles, he finished in 4th place with a season-best time of 1:00.66. This was worth 6 points for the club.
In the high jump, Anthony Day cleared a height of 1.65 meters, which earned him a 6th-place finish and 3 more points for the club.
Peyton Boblett also contributed to the point production in the shot put, whose toss of 30'10.25" was good for 8th place and 3 points.
He was joined by Darren Griffin, who finished 10th in the shot put at 30'9", good for 1 point. Griffin also placed well in the discus throw, sailing a toss of 91'9" to earn 8th place and grab 3 more team points.
Devon Hill, in the 100-meter dash; Day, in the 200-meter dash; Avery Jenkins, in the 100-meter dash and high jump; and Gerald Bentley, in the high jump and triple jump, also gave their all for the team.
