Alice Lloyd Eagles Track and Field competes in West Virginia University Mountaineer Twilight Classic
Morgantown, WV: The Alice Lloyd College Eagles Outdoor Track and Field squad traveled to Morgantown, West Virginia on April 20th to compete in the ultra-competitive WVU Mountaineer Twilight, held on the campus of the West Virginia University Mountaineers.
The Twilight was originally scheduled for two days, but adverse weather conditions on Friday sliced it to a one-day event. On Saturday, ALC competed against schools from various levels of NCAA, plus NAIA and NCCAA squads. Team scores were not kept, and the Eagles had three men participate.
Darren Griffin finished 7th in the javelin toss, hitting a distance of 34.54m (113'4" ft). He also came in 12th in the shotput at 10.19m (33'5.25" ft). Additionally, he also earned 12th in the discus at 29.05m (95'4" ft).
Peyton Boblett tossed 33.53m (110'0" ft) in javelin to take 8th place while his 9.45m (31'0" ft) throw in the shotput placed him 15th.
In the high jump, Anthony Day gave a good effort, but failed to clear the height of 1.75 meters.
