Alice Lloyd Eagles Track and Field competes in River States Conference Tournament
Pittsburg, PA: The Alice Lloyd College Eagles Outdoor Track and Field squad traveled to Pittsburg, Pennsylvania on April 25th-26th to compete in the River States Conference. The event was held at the 3PR Track and Field Complex at RMU Island Sports Center.
After the last event had been conducted, the Bluegrass boys would finish in 10th place out of 12 participating twelve colleges.
For the Caney Creek crew, the big winner for the Eagles was junior Nikolas Chasteen. Chasteen made the podium in the 100-m dash, crossing the tape in 10.97 sec to take third place. This was worth six points to the squad. Later, in the 200-m dash, he crossed the line in 22.53 sec to earn fourth place and take five points for the team. His effort would be worth 11 points for the Eagles.
Darren Griffin finished 13th in the javelin toss, hitting a distance of 34.23m (112'03" ft). He also came in 12th in the shotput at 9.92m (32.06" ft). Additionally, he also earned 18th in the discus at 30.88m (101-03" ft).
Peyton Boblett tossed 32.47m (106-06" ft) in javelin to take 16th place while his 9.18m (30-01.5" ft) throw in the shotput placed him 21st
In the high jump, Anthony Day gave a good effort, but failed to clear the height of 1.70 meters.
In addition, Andre Harless competed in the 400-m dash.
