
Alice Lloyd Track and Field competes in challenging Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational at Coastal Carolina
Myrtle Beach, SC: The Alice Lloyd College Eagles Outdoor Track and Field squad traveled to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina on March 20th -22nd to compete in the competitive Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational at Coastal Carolina. 45 squads entered teams in this prestigious event.
On the women's side of the equation, Kaitlynn Ratliff, Taylor Caldwell, and Rose Scotello represented the Lady Eagles.
Ratliff competed in two track events. In the 1 mile run, the senior finished with a solid time of 6:29.92. She also ran in the 3000m and crossed the tape in 13:04.22.
Caldwell competed in three field events. In the Javelin toss, she would finish with a throw of 25.46m. The senior also appeared in the shot put, where she delivered a toss of 8.95m.
Scotello had a full schedule, competing in five events. In the Javelin toss, she would finish with a throw of 22.61m. She appeared in the Shot Put, where she delivered a toss of 9.42m. The freshman also was in the Hammer Throw and heaved a toss of 18.67m. Her final field event was the Discus, where she reached a distance of 22.87m. Lastly, she also ran the 400m Hurdles, completing the course in a time of 1:27.97.
For the men, Nicholas Chasteen, Darren Griffin, Peyton Boblett, and Connor Ramey were the Eagle representatives.
Chasteen appeared in two events. He finished the 200m dash in a solid time of 23:61. In addition, the senior also finished the 100m dash, with a time of 11:17.
Griffin competed in a trio of field events. In the Discus, he laid out a toss of 26.59m. In the Shot Put, he achieved a 9.72m throw. The senior also heaved the Javelin 34.25m.
Peyton Boblett was in two field events. The senior tossed 28.87 in Javelin while his heave in the Shot Put was 9.14m.
Ramey was the representative in one track event, the 800m. The freshman finished the race in 2:18.15.
