ALC Cross Country Competes in RSC Tournament
Midway, KY: The women's and men's cross-country teams traveled to Midway to compete in the River States Conference Championship. The weather was cool but pleasant, as 95 women and 114 men from thirteen conference institutions took to the course for the women's 6K and men's 8K run.
The central Kentucky course was sloped in places and was made to challenge all runners. On the women's side, Hannah Wells of IU Kokomo brought home the gold in an impressive time of 23:36. For the men, Tyler Jenkins of Rio Grande won in an outstanding time of 24:36
On the day for ALC, the ladies were led once more by Sara Cecil (27:34), who crossed the finish line in 44th position. Completing the team's day was Kaitlynn Ratliff (28:31), who finished in 65th place.
In the men's event, Collin Ramey represented the squad and crossed the line in 34:16. This earned him 104th place overall.
Both Cecil and Ratliff have achieved the qualifying time necessary to participate in the NCCAA DII Women's Cross-Country Championships. That event will be held on November 10th at 11:45 pm in Warsaw, Indiana.
