Pippa Passes, KY: On Tuesday, November 6th, the Alice Lloyd College Lady Eagles returned to the Perry Campus Center and "Coach J" court to battle the Ohio Christian University Lady Trailblazers in basketball action. The hosts would come through in the clutch to earn the 73-64 victory.

In the opening period, the Lady Eagles saw seven different players score, accounting for 16 total points. OCU traded buckets and scored late to lead 18-16 after ten minutes of action.

In the second quarter, the Bluegrass ladies turned to senior guard Katie Jo Moore, who delivered 9 big points. Her scoring spree enabled the host club to come back and take a 36-34 cushion at intermission.

In the third period, the two squads tightened up on defense as the goals proved hard to come by. Due to both squads scoring 14 points apiece, ALC held a 50-48 edge entering the final quarter of play.

In the final period, the game turned into a duel between Alice Lloyd's Moore and OCU's Lily Stewart. as both guards drained big shots over the ten-minute spqn. At 2:10, a Moore bucket gave her crew a 64-62 advantage, only to see OCU knot the contest once more (64-64) at 1:47.

In need of a big play, Moore attacked the goal but saw her shot rim out. However, Pippa Passes sophomore forward Jamie Cowan snagged the rebound, which she kicked out to freshman guard Ashtyn Barrett.

Barrett promptly swung the ball to sophomore Kennedy Harville in the left corner, and the guard cooly swished a bomb at 1:24 to lift her mates to a huge 67-64 lead. The Pippa Passes posse then made the lead stand, sinking 6-8 charity tosses to preserve the hard-fought victory.

For the victors (2-2), Moore was big-time, dripping 10-19 field goals to finish with a game-high 23 points. She added 5 rebounds. Cowan came through with 8 points and ripped down a game-high 14 rebounds. She added 2 blocks.

In addition, freshman guard Bailey Stewart chipped in with 8 points, 7 boards, and 2 steals, while Barrett added 6 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 steals. Sophomore guard Abby Maggard also had 2 assists.

 The Caney Club finished shooting 39.4% (26-66) from the field and 27.8% (5-19) from long range. They connected on 69.6% (16-23) from the foul line while adding 55 rebounds, 10 assists, 4 blocks and 7 steals.

Stewart paced OCU (1-2) with 21 points. Her squad finished shooting 35.2% (25-71) from the field, 17.4% (4-23) from behind the arc, and 47.6% (10-21) from the charity stripe. They also added 42 rebounds, 17 assists, 2 blocks and 8 steals.

The Lady Eagles return to the hardwood on November 8th and 9th when they travel to Winona Lake, Indiana, to play in the Grace College Classic. They will face Spring Arbor (MI) on Friday at 7:30 and then play the host Lady Lancers on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. Grace is the defending NCCAA DI Women's National Champions.
