Alice Lloyd Lady Eagles Soccer Opens 2024 Season at Union Commonwealth

Barboursville, KY: On Tuesday, August 27th, the Alice Lloyd College Lady Eagles opened the 2024 soccer campaign by facing the homestanding Union Commonwealth Lady Bulldogs (1-0-1). After the dust had settled, the hosts prevailed, 14-0.

ALC Coach Juan Lander's club played hard, but UC managed to produce six scores before intermission. allowing them to take a 6-0 advantage into the locker room.

In the second half, the Bulldogs scored five quick points in the first ten minutes to take an insurmountable lead.

Alice Lloyd battled to the very end, but the Barboursville club would add to their advantage until the final horn sounded.

On the day, the hosts fired 39 shots compared to the Lady Eagles 1, and led in corner kicks 6-0. These numbers would prove fatal. ALC's Alexis Skeens had a good attempt for a score, but the ball sailed just wide of the target.

Pippa Passes goalie Karrie Hall did register 13 saves. ALC committed 0 fouls compared to the Bulldogs' 5.

The Lady Eagles (0-1) return to action on Friday, September 30th, when they travel to Pikeville to face the UPike Lady Bears. Game time is set for 4:00 p.m.
