Alice Lloyd Lady Eagles Soccer hosts Southwest Virginia

 

Pippa Passes, KY: On Sunday, October 6th, the Alice Lloyd College Lady Eagles soccer team returned home to face the Southwest Virginia Flying Eagles (4-4) in a match that was postponed from last week due to weather. Over 90 minutes of play, the hosts put up a good fight before eventually dropping a 5-0 decision. 

The game was a defensive battle for the first 28 minutes, until SW broke the ice with a score at 28:20 to go ahead 1-0. They would later add a pair of goals in a one-minute span and enter the lockeroom at intermission leading 3-0.  

In the second half, the Lady Eagles battled to the wire, and had 3 shots on goal, but unfortunately, were unable to connect. The Flying Eagles would add a pair of late scores to ice the game, and end the day with the 5-0 victory.

On the day, the victors won the shots-on-goal war, 13-3 and led in corner kicks (6-1).

Pippa Passes goalie Karrie Hall registered 8 saves. Both squads committed 1 foul.

The Lady Eagles (0-7) return to action on Tuesday, October 8th, when they travel to Southwest Virginia College for a rematch.
