Alice Lloyd Lady Eagles Soccer concludes season at UC Harrodsburg
Harrodsburg, KY: On Monday, November 4th, the Alice Lloyd College Lady Eagles battled the University of Campbellsville-Harrodsburg Lady Pioneers in the NCCAA DII Mideast Regional tournament. The host squad would have a battle on their hands from the scrappy Eagles before eventually taking the 4-0 victory.
The scoreboard remained blank for the early part of the game before CHU finally connected at 19:04 to break the ice (1-0). They would then add a score at 30:07 to send them into the locker room nursing a 2-0 advantage.
In the second half, Alice Lloyd battled furiously to cut into the deficit. Unfortunately, even though they were able to create a few opportunities, they were unable to send the ball into the net to start a rally. Harrodsburg would eventually add two more score to their total, one at 61:41 and the last at 80:20. Unfortunately, they would manage to make that lead stand up until the final buzzer sounded, sealing the 4-0 victory.
On the day, the visitors fired 35 shots compared to the Pippa Passes crew with 4, and 13 shots-on-goal compared the the Bluegrass squad's 4.
Pippa Passes goalie Karrie Hall performed admirably as she registered 9 saves, allowing 4 goals.
In addition, the Mideast Region announced the DII All-Mideast Regional team. ALC was represented by Alexis Skeens, Mackenzie Cowell, Hannah Cobb and Ashley Moore. Finally, The Legacy Awards were handed out. These are presented to seniors who represented their school and program with distinction over their careers. The Eagles recipients were Libby Danner and Mackenzie Cowell.
