Bio
Emily Maples enters her first season (2025-26) as an assistant coach with the Alice Lloyd College women’s soccer program, having joined the Eagles’ staff in July 2025. Maples enjoyed a standout playing career at Ripon College (Ripon, Wis.), where the four-year starting defender appeared in 73 of a possible 74 matches, collected Midwest Conference Defender-of-the-Week honors three times, and helped the Red Hawks reach their first-ever MWC Tournament in 2014.
A 2018 Ripon graduate with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry-biology, Maples went on to earn her Ph.D. in microbiology and immunology from the Indiana University School of Medicine in 2024. She currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Biology at Alice Lloyd College, teaching Principles of Biology, Parasitology, Molecular Biology, and Genetics.
Maples brings to the pitch the same passion for mentoring that she demonstrates in the classroom and looks forward to guiding Eagle student-athletes to success both academically and athletically.
Away from campus, she enjoys cooking and baking and spending time with her husband, Gavin, their daughter, Wendy, and the family’s two dogs, Gertrude and Hilda.
