Alice Lloyd Eagles Track and Field participates in Berea College Landon Bond Invitational
Berea, KY: The Alice Lloyd College Eagles Outdoor Track and Field squad traveled to central Kentucky on March 29th to compete in the competitive Landon Bond Invitational at Berea College. 17 squads ranging from NAIA to NCAA entered teams in this competitive event.
On the women's side of the things, 16 squads battled in the event, and the Lady Eagles would score 8 points to finish in 12th place. Kaitlynn Ratliff, Taylor Caldwell, and Rose Scotello represented the Caney Creek club.
Ratliff competed in one track event, the 1500m run, and crossed the tape in a time of 6:01.5
Caldwell competed in two field events. In the Javelin toss, she would finish with a throw of 29:52m, which would earn 4 points for the squad. The senior also appeared in the shot put, where she delivered a toss of 9.7m and earned 1 point.
Scotello also competed in two field events. In the Javelin toss, she would finish with a throw of 27.67m, good enough for 3 points. She also appeared in the Shot Put, where she delivered a toss of 9.2m.
For the men, 14 squads would give a good effort, and the Eagles would finish in 14th place. Nicholas Chasteen, Darren Griffin, Peyton Boblett, Connor Ramey, and Anthony Day were the Eagle representatives.
Chasteen appeared in two track events. He finished the 200m dash in a solid time of 23:04. Also, the senior finished the 100m dash, with a solid time of 11:14, and earned 4 points for the squad.
Griffin competed in two field events. He achieved a 9.47m throw in the Shot Put while in the Javelin, his toss of 36.57m was good enough for 1 point.
Peyton Boblett was also in two field events. The senior tossed the Shot Put 9.74m, while in the Javelin, he reached 29.07m.
Ramey was in one track event, the 800m. The freshman completed the race in 2:16.12.
Day participated in two field events. In the Long Jump, he achieved 4.67m (15-04 ft), while in the High Jump, he fouled out on attempts.
