
Alice Lloyd Volleyball Travels to University of Pikeville
Pikeville, KY: On September 15th, Coach Nathan Hall's Alice Lloyd College Lady Eagles volleyball team journeyed to Pikeville to face the UPike Lady Bears. At the conclusion, the home club had earned a tough 3-1 victory.
In set 1, ALC came out ready to play and battled UPike hard. The Lady Eagles would lead 22-18, only to see the hosts roar back to knot the score at 24. Both teams battled furiously, but the Pippa Passes club would finally prevail on a kill from Reiley McCoy, 29-27.
In set 2, the Pikeville ladies roared back with a solid display and took the comfortable win, 25-11.
In set 3, the squads battled evenly once more, and the scoreboard read 25-25. However, the Lady Bears would get a crucial call in their favor and take the final two points for the 27-25 win.
In set 4, the hosts used their momentum to take a quick lead and were able to ride it all the way to a 25-16 match-clinching victory.
On the day, Caroline Parsons led ALC with 10 assists, while McCoy, Adreonna Schutz, Brooklyn Cheek, and Kyleah Ward each had 5 kills. Jenni Droke led in digs with 16 while Ward led in blocks with 3. Schutz led the team with 3 aces.
The Lady Eagles (3-2) return to action on Tuesday, September 20th, when they host Ohio Christian University in the River States Conference season-opener. Game time is set for 7:00 pm.
