Lady Eagles Volleyball hosts West Virginia Tech University

Pippa Passes, KY: On September 12th, the Alice Lloyd College Lady Eagles (2-9, 0-1 RSC) volleyball team played host to the West Virginia Tech Golden Bears (5-8, 1-0 RSC) in River States Conference action.

In set 1, the visitors came out hot, rolling off a 9-0 burst to start the game. The Pippa Passes girls would get no closer than eight the rest of the way as they dropped a 25-16 decision.

In set 2, things started similarly as Tech pulled quickly ahead, 11-3. The home squad would get within six (18-12), only to watch the West Virginia club close the game on a 7-2 run to clinch the game, 25-14.

In set 3, the Lady Eagles got off on the right foot as they grabbed an early 10-5 lead. However, the Mountain State squad was eager to bring the match to a close and fought back to pull ahead. The hometown squad refused to roll over and kept the match close. Unfortunately, three straight WV Tech kills slammed the door shut on a 25-21 match victory.

On the day, Tianna Wesley and TK Ellis both had 7 kills, while Brooklyn Cheek added 6 more.
