Alice Lloyd Volleyball earns sweep over Appalachian Bible
Pippa Passes, KY: The Alice Lloyd Lady Eagles volleyball team returned home on Monday, September 23rd, to face the Appalachian Bible College Lady Warriors. In a hard-fought series, the hosts would emerge with a nice three-game sweep.
In the opener, the West Virginia club showed they meant business as they grabbed the early advantage and held on to it; however, leading 19-17, ABC saw the Lady Eagles turn up the intensity. The home team would close with a beautiful 8-2 burst and take the game 25-21.
Set 2 saw the hosts jump ahead in a match that was never in doubt. Alice Lloyd would play their best game of the series en route to a 25-12 win.
In set 3, ALC once again jumped out to a strong lead. After a late run from ABC, the home team found itself trailing 26-25. Once again, the Lady Eagles responded by scoring the final three points of the set to clinch the match in a thriller, 28-26.
On the day, ALC's TK Ellis and Jadyn Hall led the club with 12 kills apiece, while Rose Scotello handed out 18 assists. Ellis, Scotello, and Camryn Thompson took care of the digs (14,11,10), while Ellis delivered 4 big service aces.
