Alice Lloyd Volleyball hosts Indiana University-Columbus in RSC play
Pippa Passes, KY: The Alice Lloyd Lady Eagles volleyball team returned home on Friday, October 18th, to face a new opponent, the Indiana University- Columbus Crimson Pride (7-9; 3-6 RSC) in a River States Conference matchup. The hosts Eagles put up a good battle before ultimately dropping the match, 3-1.
IUC-3; ALC: 1
The opener, was a contest of runs. The Crimson Pride came prepared as they jumped out to a 15-6 lead, only to watch the hosts go on a 7-2 run to slice the score to 17-13. However, IUC would close with a 8-1 burst of their own to win, 25-14.
In Game 2, the two squads matched points in a well-played set. Both teams took turns scoring as the crowd saw a nip-and-tuck affair. Finally, at 23-23, ALC came through with the final two points to win, 25-23.
Game 3, saw the central Indiana club break open a close 11-8 contest by going on a mammoth 14-3 blitzkreig to cruise to the 25-11 victory.
In Game 4, the score read 9-7 before Columbus heated up once again, going on a critical 9-4 run to pull away 18-11. This would give them the momentum they needed to close out the match, 25-14.
On the day for ALC (6-18; 0-9 RSC), TK Ellis and Kyleah Ward led the club with 7 and 6 kills respectively, while Rose Scotello paved the way in assists, with 17.
In addition, Scotello delivered 3 service aces while Jadyn Hall (9), Scotello (8) and Gracie Gibson led in digs.
