Alice Lloyd Lady Eagles Cross Country Completes Season in NCCAA National Championships
Warsaw, IN: The ALC Lady Eagle's cross-country team closed out their season on November 10th by participating in the 2023 NCCAA DII Cross Country National Championship in Warsaw, Indiana. The weather was cool and wet, as 54 women took to the course for the women's 5K run. All participants must achieve a qualifying time in an official race to advance to the nationals, so this meet was represented by the finest runners in the nation on this level.
After the final athlete had crossed the finish line, the overall winner was Ella Dufault of Crown College. She blazed through the course in an excellent time of 19:20 to bring home the gold.
On the day for ALC, the ladies were led once more by Sara Cecil, who crossed the finish line in a solid time of 22:46. This earned her 19th place overall. Also competing for the team on the day was Kaitlynn Ratliff, who finished in 25th place in the steady time of 23:01.
We congratulate both of these fine student-athletes for their excellent season and for reaching the most prestigious meet in the country.
